Coming to the 4fortyfour

Coming to the 4fortyfour (These ‘puns’ have to stop – Ed.) is a new monthly feature that will showcase the best in emerging Irish and international music.

Over the past few months, I’ve been delighted and overwhelmed in equal measure with the number of bands who’ve been in touch with 4fortyfour asking for us to listen to their music. While we get to listen to virtually everything – it’s inevitable that one or two fall through the cracks – we’ve had some trouble deciding what to do with the music.

From the outset, I made it clear that I didn’t want 4fortyfour to post about every single piece of music that came our way. I wanted us to take a more critical approach than that. Now though, I think we have the solution.

If you want to send us your music, please post 1-3 songs into the Dropbox on the right hand side of this page. We’ll listen to everything.

Then, every month, we’ll post a feature called Coming to the 4fortyfour, where the team will critically assess everything, good and bad, that comes our way. We’ll then pick a ‘Track of the Month’ which we’ll feature in a separate blog post.
